Study explores ways of reducing rehospitalization rate among elderly patientsA recent study conducted by researchers at the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center has found that the number of elderly patients who return to the hospital after discharge has risen significantly over the years. The paper, which appears in the current issue of the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, revealed that more Medicare beneficiaries are experiencing rehospitalization within 30 days of leaving.

Organizations announce study to help reduce the number of rehospitalizations

A national study to identify best practices that aim to reduce hospital readmissions was recently announced by Delta Health Technologies. The company will be partnering with the National Association for Home Care and Hospice (NAHC), the Home Health Quality Improvement National Campaign, the Forum of State Associations and research firm Fazzi Associates.
