Assisted living facilities play a major role in the comfort and well-being of millions of seniors in the U.S. One such community, Harrogate, was recently recognized by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services. The healthcare center achieved a perfect score for health inspections and met hundreds of regulatory standards laid out by the CMS.

Trained inspectors - including registered nurses, dietitians and pharmacists - generally pay an unannounced visit each year in order to evaluate the personal care being administered to residents. These individuals also assess a facility's food preparation and storage processes, management of medication and clinical records.

"We are proud to meet and exceed the social therapeutic needs of our residents as validated by this inspection," said Harrogate executive director Donald A. Johansen. "Our staff prides itself in providing a supportive and caring environment for our residents and their families."
